In December 2008, Carey Glass was honourably awarded the Engineers Ireland MEETA award for "maintenance management excellence". This award, presented by the Irish Asset Maintenance Managers recognises unique and pioneering work in the field of asset maintenance. The award ceremony took place at the Institute of Engineers headquarters in Clyde Road, Dublin. Carey Glass was represented on the night by Daragh Naughton and Aidan King.
The award was made for Carey Glass's efforts to use modern manufacturing and management techniques to solve complicated maintenance issues. According to Dr Daragh Naughton, "reorganising a legacy structure is never easy, but the attitude of the directors coupled with the energetic work of the existing maintenance staff made the task a whole lot easier". CIMMS or Carey Integrated Maintenance Management System was designed by Daragh Naughton and programmed by Aidan King. The new maintenance software now forms the backbone of the maintenance culture and policy within the organisation. “Maintenance plays a very important role in any organisation. The quality product we produce would not be possible without the excellent work of our dedicated maintenance department"-according to Daragh Naughton. "This award really recognises their ability to adopt and deliver"
