Since the addition of tempering furnaces more than 20 years ago, tempered glass’s inherent strength has brought a new dimension to the versatility of glass and the application and use continues to increase its demand.

Detailed Description
Carey Glass International have been at the forefront of supplying processed glass and mirrors for many years and during this time we have added more capability and huge capacity through investment and automation. We have double straight line edger’s, beveling lines, various CNC water-jet cutting, tempering, laminating, curved tempering and heat soaking facilities along with screen-printing, sandblasting and painting.
By transforming the edge of the glass product and increasing the thickness processed glass panels are able to be used in a multitude of ways in modern architecture. Surface decoration includes sandblasting, screen-printing, brilliant cutting or CAD reproduction of images using printing or painting. Carey Glass International has the capacity to produce in volume runs or bespoke pieces. Typical examples of our work can be seen in many hotel receptions, shopping centres, railway stations, bus shelters and telephone kiosks all over Europe.
We can produce C.N.C. processed glass from 3mm to 25mm thick and offer a variety of safety glass options: Laminated, heat-strengthened, tempered, or tempered laminated. We have been processing mirrors for years and supply them all over Europe. The vast majority of our processed glass is supplied in a safety glass product and our extensive capacity in tempering furnaces means that we can offer short lead times.

Primary Uses
External Architectural Glass
Carey Glass International supplies a wide variety of glass types for the street furniture business and for external glazing in many European Countries. For many years we have been supplying toughened glass products used in the following applications:
- Telephone Kiosks
- Bus Shelters
- Advertising signs and fascias
- Glass Ballustrading
- Glass floors
- Stair treads
We have now added tempered curved glass which offers even more applications in retail entrance systems as well as in airports and sports arenas.
Internal applications
The use of glass internally in buildings is increasing due to the ability to combine tempering with screen-print, paint, drill, cut outs, crystal cut and polish glass, Carey Glass International have become a market leader in this area. Our products are used frequently in the following applications:
- Stair treads in tempered laminated with non slip surfaces to specification.
- Roof canopies.
- Glass screens, partitions and door assemblies including the hinges, door springs and locking assemblies.
- Shower Doors in a variety of surface finishes including curved bespoke assemblies, column cladding in a rainbow of colours.
- Security – glazing.
- Bullet and blast resistant laminated tempered for banks, financial institutions, police, prison and areas of high risk.
- Handball/squash courts, balustrading in sports complexes.
- Swimming pool enclosures.
- Changing room partitions.
