A big win for Miesian Plaza at the Ireland Engineering Excellence Awards.
Sustainability is at the heart of Dublin’s Miesian Plaza office complex retrofit, the country’s first LEED Platinum v4 certified development. We’re delighted that the refurbishment has won the Climate Change Adaptation Category at the 2020 Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland Engineering Excellence Awards. Working with Remley Unlimited Company and original architects Scott Tallon Walker Architects Arup engineered the restoration of the protected façade to preserve the building’s character, while bringing it in line with contemporary green standards. Many congratulations to ARUP for this outstanding achievement. “Achieving high standards in energy efficiency was a priority for the restoration of Miesian Plaza, in line with the client’s ambitious sustainability targets. This project was particularly noteworthy due to the protected status of the buildings. It is an honour to receive the Climate Change Adaptation Award from ACEI. By working closely with the client and the design team, we were delighted to achieve a sustainable and sensitive refurbishment,” said Sean Barrett, Associate, Structures ARUP.
