Summary
21st century city living - Capital Dock is a city centre location bounded on three sides by canal and riverside promenades, the layout of this strategic urban quarter has been carefully considered to create a development of distinction, with a variety of high quality public spaces and exemplary building designs. The buildings are designed as strong, simple forms, taking reference from the traditional industrial architecture of the docklands. Their simple geometry and robust materiality are concerned with permanence and timelessness. A landmark building forms the centre piece of the development extending to over 23 floors above ground. Upon completion the 22-storey mixed-use tower became the tallest storeyed building in the Republic of Ireland, and the third tallest on the island of Ireland.
