St. Stephens Tower
Location: Norfolk, U.K.
Architect: LSI Architects
Summary
Originally built by R G Carter in the early 1970s, St Stephens Towers has been refurbished and re-clad with a new floor added to each tower. The two towers at St Stephens provide new living spaces for students, encompassing 702 rooms and a new link between the buildings. The new student accommodation comprises a mixture of studio, twodio and cluster flats with open communal spaces. The towers are located above existing live retail stores, which will provide significant benefits to the local economy and help to ease the current high demand for purpose built student living spaces within Norwich city centre.
Glass
The entire building was reclad in a new curtain walling system, installed within a logistically challenging site adjacent to Norwich bus station and above occupied retail units.
